Photography meets Fabric!

I love capturing the beauty of nature on my camera any chance I get! Combining my photography with traditional Indian craftsmanship, we at Chobhi have created a collection that captures the beautiful colours and patterns found in nature. We love that the colours on our scarves are all naturally found!

Photographs can be normally seen on paper or canvas. We thought, ‘why not print photographs onto fabric - fabric that people could wear as ‘wearable art!’ I had a unique vision to print my nature photographs onto scarves to give new perspective to the photographs.

We traveled to India to carefully source artisanal handwoven fabrics such as pure cashmere, wool, silk and cotton. The colours and patterns of my photographs came out vibrant and even more beautiful on the scarves than I imagined! We’re so thrilled we can offer such a unique and fashionable product to our amazing customers.

We ensured to use organic fabrics that went great with our theme of having nature photographs printed on the scarves. Most of my shots are macro ones. The fabrics emphasized the colours and fine details of these macro shots. We love that my photography can be beautifully draped around peoples’ necks to make a statement neckpiece!

We keep discovering other great accessories and clothing that are using photographic prints!

These might be men's shoes but the first time I saw these Alexander McQueen Black Label shoes for Puma I gasped at their beauty. The abstract landscape photo printed onto the leather is mysterious and moody and makes these shoes art. So inspiring!

I love coral and I love rocks (I majored in Geology because I love them so much).
That's why this Giambattista Valli dress is perfect, with it's print made from a photograph of the beautiful layers of a coral geode. Not to mention the cut of this dress is universally flattering.

Living in Canada can sometimes make you feel that winter lasts forever, which is why I love these clutches by Samudra11 with summery photographic prints of beaches and palm trees. Also what a coincidence that their company name is also a bengali and sanskrit word that means ocean!
